Climate Change Is Fast But We Are Very Slow

         The impacts of climate change are already being felt around the world - from more frequent and severe storms, floods, droughts, and wildfires - threatening our cities, communities, crops, water, and wildlife. Climate change poses a fundamental threat to nature, species, and people – but it’s not too late to take collective action. Unfortunately climate change is fast but we are slow. We are now beginning to understand the danger of climate change, yet our efforts to slow down or stop it are very slow. Whereas climate change is not a threat to any one caste, religion, community or country but to the entire earth on which not only humans but all living beings live.   

It is true that I am aware of the dangers of climate change. I continuously write articles about these dangers and the efforts to slow down the pace of climate change, and try to bring awareness through my speeches, but recently I deeply felt the slow pace of the efforts. The serious problem of climate change has arisen due to the burning of fossil fuels and excessive exploitation of natural resources. If climate change is not stopped in time, millions of people will become victims of disasters like starvation, water crisis and floods. This crisis will affect the entire world. Although climate change will have the greatest impact on poor countries. Along with this, those countries which are least responsible for climate change will suffer its biggest impact. Backward and developing countries will be at greater risk of problems arising from climate change. Climate change is affecting the Arctic region, Africa and small islands more. The North Pole (Arctic) is warming at twice the rate of the rest of the world. On the basis of data received from satellites, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has said that the Indian sea is rising at the rate of 2.5 mm annually. It is being estimated from a study that if this trend of rising sea level near the Indian border continues, then by the year 2050 the sea level may rise by 15 to 36 centimeters.
I want us to hand over a healthy and safe earth to our next generation, so that there can be continuity of life on earth. Indian culture is based on the ideology of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” i.e. the whole earth is our family. I always try to remind  by selecting those cultural values from our ancient texts which mention environmental protection and climate protection. Our Indian culture has been more thoughtful towards nature than other civilizations of the world. Even today, India is ready to lead the world in warning of the dangers of climate change. But there is a difference between "being eager" and "being ready". In other words, we want to do everything right but are not able to do it right. Let me give you an example of this in the form of one of my decisions. I felt sad while taking this decision but I was helpless. Then I assured myself that I would change my decision when I got an opportunity. Still, there is a tension left in the mind.
What happened was that I decided to buy a scooter. I wanted to buy an electric scooter. In this way I could avoid wasting fossil fuels and could also save the environment from fossil fuel pollution. When I started inquiring about electric scooties, I came to know that while petrol-powered scooties were available for up to Rs 1 lakh, electric scooties were starting from Rs 1.5 lakh. If the battery used in an electric scooter of a good company has to be replaced after five years, it will cost Rs 25-30 thousand. The good thing was that the cost of electricity was going to be less than the cost of petrol. But there are no charging stations in my city. If I forget to charge the car at home and get a low-charging signal midway, then where will I go and how will I charge? Do I have to knock on someone's door and request them to let me charge my car? Or else I will have to make arrangements to load the vehicle from there to the ground on another vehicle. This is a very practical thing. eBay sellers never like to talk about this. If we still talk to them about this, they laugh and say that this is a small town, it is the distance that will be a problem here. No such problem will ever arise. Of course it will not come if the car is left fully charged before leaving home. It is not necessary to remain so alert all the time. Here I do not want to blame any EV manufacturer, any EV agency or its salespeople. There is no fault of his. They are also in favor of EVs so that pollution free vehicles run on the roads. If there is any fault then it is the slow pace of our systems. Charging stations have not been built at the same speed with which EV vehicles have been launched in the market. There are no charging stations in small towns like my town. There is still a lot of time to set up charging stations in villages.
I thought practically and bought a petrol-powered scooter for myself. While buying it, I felt as if I was breaking my principles. Like I'm committing a crime. But I had no other option. No matter what the vehicle is, it may be needed at any time of the day or night. When a single woman or girl comes out of the house for some work after evening, how can she quickly check how much is the charging? Then what will she do if she misses the charge on the way? If there are charging points within a certain distance in the city then she will not face any problem but what will she do if there are no charging points or charging stations? When petrol suddenly runs out in a petrol vehicle, some driver passing by, as a humanitarian gesture, provides enough petrol so that the person in trouble can reach a petrol pump. But no one can help on the way in an EV vehicle even if one wants to.
All this is to say that we are not trying to keep up our efforts with the speed at which climate change is happening and the eagerness with which we wish to slow down the pace of climate change. Therefore, there is a need to accelerate practically our efforts to reduce the risks of climate change.

*Both are burning topics - climate change and human rights. Is any relation between both topics? Yes we can say it that human life depends on their climate. But not only one relation is. Climate and human life relates in many ways. So, if there is climate gets harmful changes, human life get serious changes automatically. In the other words we can say that climate change not good for human life and his rights.*


Patna Buzurg is a small village in Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh. While passing through that village, I got a chance to see the beauty of the small farms on both sides of the road. Mid March and overcast skies, strong chance of rain. The weather was lovely to visit. I saw that crop of wheat in the fields which was ripe and ready at some places, and at some places it was half-ripe. The farmers were not able to harvest their crops which looked ripe. At the same time, greenness was clearly visible in the half-ripe ears of wheat. There was still time for them to ripen. Looking at those crops, I was worried that what would happen to these crops if it rains heavily? And if hail falls somewhere, then this crop will be completely destroyed. I shudder even thinking about it. I was looking at the land there. I could not even imagine how much effort the farmers must have put in to make the rocky land cultivable. Not everyone can understand the hard work of the farmer who makes the stony land of the old forest cultivable. The crop which was seen flourishing in front of me under the impending crisis of the weather, must have taken tireless labor and capital of the farmers to grow it. Some small farmers may have had to invest their entire capital. They will hope that when a good harvest comes, they will get their capital back with a profit. But will this hope be fulfilled due to the unexpected change in weather? In fact, I am scared to even think about it.
       There was a time when I was in field journalism. During that period, I had visited weather-affected farms in Madhya Pradesh's Panna district with a group of leaders and officials. In those days there were not so many changes in the weather, yet I had seen gram and wheat plants breaking and mixing in the soil. Those memories still scare me. I don't want to see such scenes anymore because a crop is not only the life of a farmer, but also cures the hunger of every person and strengthens the country's economy.
Getting food and water to stay alive is the first right of a human being. So if the cycle of crops is being affected due to climate change. If crops are getting damaged due to sudden change of weather, then man will not be able to get his first and primary right to get food. This is also one of the reasons behind promoting the production of coarse grains so that the availability of the crop remains in the changing climate. Farmers are being motivated to adopt varieties of crops which require less water to grow and which can be grown two or three times in a year. So that the availability of the crop remains and no one has to go hungry.
The bitter reality is Poverty-related causes account for about one-third of human deaths each year. This situation will only get worse in the future due to the increasing impact of climate change. The proportion of women and girls is also high among the poor, due to which they are more vulnerable to the problem. For example, in rural India, it is especially the responsibility of women to provide food and water. Therefore, the effects of climate change on land yields, water availability and food security have a direct impact on women. That is, at the age when girls should concentrate on their studies and childhood activities, they have to bring water from distant reservoirs to their homes. When a pregnant woman or child is in need of rest, she has to carry pitchers of water on her head. Even though the state governments dig tube wells, but due to the changes in climate and weather, the water level is falling every year. Where on one hand this situation is hurting the human rights of women, on the other hand it is also increasing the threat to the primary right of man to drinking water.
Even though the effects of climate are slowly becoming common to us, the natural disasters and extreme weather events caused by climate change are already wreaking havoc on those populations and will increase in the coming times. So, while international climate negotiations must focus on protecting the environment and saving natural resources for future generations, it is also important that they address the immediate development challenge of at-risk populations around the world. Don't bet. For this, it is necessary that the debate on climate change is focused on equity, access to energy and partnership. Development is not only an economic and social necessity, it is also the best solution adopted regarding climate change. In order to protect the fundamental human rights to life, health and livelihood of vulnerable populations, it is imperative that we promote development that enhances the resilience of such special groups and their assets, while at the same time Only he could successfully implement climate change measures.
Indeed, climate change is one of the greatest threats to human rights of our generation, posing a serious threat to the fundamental rights to life, health, food and an adequate standard of living of individuals and communities around the world. In this year, in February 2023, while addressing the International Conference on Climate Change and Human Rights-Impacts and Responsibilities held in Doha, Qatar, Justice Shri Arun Mishra, President of National Human Rights Commission, NHRC, India, told all countries that greenhouse gases Human-induced growth is causing climate change which raises serious concerns about human rights. It is unfair to expect developing countries to strictly follow the same emission standards. They often require more resources and technology. To accomplish this, the global community has to give priority to technology transfer capacity building. Justice Mishra said that an inclusive climate change action involves formulating policies that are fair and accessible and equitable. This requires prioritizing the needs and perspectives of all stakeholders, including the most vulnerable and marginalized.
     In fact we have to understand the interrelationship between climate change and human rights and make government and personal plans accordingly. Because whether we believe it or not, human rights have started eroding due to climate change and it is necessary to stop this erosion.

*Can we see our skin aging faster? Can we see our hair getting dry faster? Can we endure hunger for long? Can we live without drinking water? There will be only one answer to all of these – 'No!', 'Never!' But it is happening slowly with us. Climate change has started affecting our daily lives and we are ignoring it even after seeing all this. Perhaps we are not understanding the seriousness of the situation. This is our biggest mistake. So before it is too late we must look at the effects of climate change affecting our daily lives.*
 
It rained lightly the day before yesterday. In the noon many people were talking about raining and saying that weather experts have forecast about warm summer. But unfortunately today morning we had raining. They people were trying to understanding to facts of weather. So this is the impact of climate change. The climate change affecting our daily life but the truth is that we continuously ignoring. Not only this, we have many changes in our life by past few years. Actually, this winter we needed very few days of warm clothes. Except for a few weeks, the temperature did not fall as much as it used to fall in previous years. The heat started knocking in the middle of February itself. Then suddenly one morning the clouds came and it rained lightly. But it was not worth recalling the cold. Why so hot was February and why we thinking about cooler in the beginning of March? Has the summer season extended? It is a bitter truth that climate change is affecting our daily lives in many ways. One of the most visible effects of climate change is the melting of glaciers and sea ice. As we have said in the past, these changes are having a strange effect on the seasons. This has led to a rise in sea levels, which threatens coastal communities and habitats. The loss of ice also disrupts the local ecosystem, as animals that rely on ice for feeding or breeding are forced to find new areas to live in. As temperatures continue to rise. Climate change is a global phenomenon that is already having a significant impact on human health. Heat waves, extreme weather events, and air pollution are all contributing to an increase in heat-related illnesses, respiratory problems, and vector-borne diseases.
If we look very closely, that is, look at our own skin, and then we will see clearly the effect of climate change. Our skin feels the need for more moisturizer. Due to dryness in the skin, the speed of aging has increased. We have to make more efforts to keep our skin moist.
Our hair starts getting dry very quickly. They have started needing both conditioner and oil. Without these two, the hair on the head starts appearing fuzzy. The reason for all this is that we are losing the moisture of our environment.
Now take a look at the market. Compared to previous years, food grains have become costlier. The ratio of consumption and production is continuously deteriorating. Farmers are facing seasonal changes in growing crops. The outbreak of drought has started damaging the crops. We are losing natural spaces. River levels are falling, causing lakes, ponds and wells to dry up, and even disappear in some places. Despite all our efforts, scarcity of drinking water can be seen in many areas of the country. Destruction of old step wells and falling water level of new tube wells have made drinking water expensive. The rest of the work has been done by those companies who make water purifier and sell bottled water.
Till about a decade and a half ago water was given free of cost in the Pyau and now the same water is sold in bottles. This business of making profit from the basic needs of human beings does not even want to look towards climate change. 
In the all over world from devastating hurricanes to unprecedented wildfires, it seems that no area of the world is immune to the effects of a changing climate. And while many people are still trying to understand the complex science behind climate change, we are already beginning to feel its effects in our daily lives. Climate change is already having a major impact on food production around the world. Rising temperatures and changes in precipitation patterns are causing crop yields to decline, pests and diseases to spread, and water availability to decline. These impacts are expected to intensify in the coming years, with some projections suggesting that global food production could decline by as much as 50% by the end of the century. This is the main reason why emphasis has been laid on growing crops that require less water.
Climate change is already beginning to take a toll on the economy. Extreme weather events are becoming more common, costing businesses billions of dollars in damages. Droughts and wildfires are also becoming more common, leading to shortages of food and water.
Climate displaced are increasing in our country, those who are leaving the village and settling in the cities to earn a living. Due to this, the human pressure on the cities is increasing. Due to this, slum areas are increasing in cities where maintaining cleanliness is a challenge. 
Climate change affecting the life around the world. Its impacts are dangerous for plants and animals species. There are currently 77 animals that are categorized as EW. Some examples of animals that are within this category are: Black Soft shell Turtle. According to scientists, if climate change continues at this rate, 150 species including animals, plants and insects may become extinct every day. About three could disappear per hour, which would result in the extinction of 72 species in a single day. That's why we need to be alert in time. We need to be constantly mindful of the impact climate change is having on our daily lives.
We should plant more and more trees, conserve water, do not harm the habitat of wild animals and birds. Along with this, we need to reduce the use of fossil fuel and reduce our carbon footprint. Let us adopt cleanliness and take all those measures so that global warming can be reduced. We must remember that we will never get back what we lose due to climate change. So we have to be aware.

Sometimes such things also have such a deep impact on each other that we cannot even think about them. When someone says that our food habits have a profound effect on the climate, we find it strange to hear it. Humans have been associated with food since the dawn of their existence. Food keeps him alive. But the same food is now having a negative impact on the climate in the form of a carbon footprint. Let us see how our food habits affect the climate and how we can bring changes in our food habits.

What connection could there be between climate change and our eating habits? It sounds weird too. But the truth is that our eating behavior also has a positive or negative impact on climate change. What we eat, and how that food is produced, affects our health but also the climate. Now it needs to be understood a little openly. Actually, food needs to be grown and processed, transported, distributed, prepared, consumed, and sometimes disposed of. Each of these steps creates greenhouse gases that trap the sun’s heat and contribute to climate change. About a third of all human-caused greenhouse gas emissions is linked to food.

Climate scientists say change, including moderating our diets, is exactly what's needed to bring down greenhouse gas emissions from food. That means eating less red meat and more plant-based foods. Producing plant-based foods generally results in fewer greenhouse gas emissions and requires less energy, land, and water. Opting for seasonal fruits produce rather than buying, say, non-seasonal fruits can also make a difference. Meat, cheese and eggs have the highest carbon footprint. Fruit, vegetables, beans and nuts have much lower carbon footprints. If we move towards a mainly vegetarian diet, we can have a large impact on our personal carbon footprint.
The largest chunk of food-related greenhouse gases comes from agriculture and land use. For instance - methane from cattle’s digestive process, nitrous oxide from fertilizers used for crop production, carbon dioxide from cutting down forests for the expansion of farmland, other agricultural emissions from manure management, rice cultivation, burning of crop residues, and the use of fuel on farms. With this, a share of the greenhouse gas emissions are caused by refrigeration and transport of food, industrial processes such as the production of paper and aluminum for packaging, the management of food waste too. Then there are several other stages in a food system directly or indirectly responsible for carbon emissions. For instance, felling forests to make way for farms and pastures removes a major carbon sink and thus indirectly contributes to emission load in the atmosphere. Running farm machinery on fossil fuels and manufacturing of agrochemicals and fertilisers too emit greenhouse gases.
The climate impact of food is measured in terms of greenhouse gas emissions intensity. The emissions intensity is expressed in kilograms of “carbon dioxide equivalents” – which includes not only CO2 but all greenhouse gases – per kilogram of food, per gram of protein or per calorie. Animal-based foods, especially red meat, dairy, and farmed shrimp, are generally associated with the highest greenhouse gas emissions. This is because meat production often requires extensive grasslands, which is often created by cutting down trees, releasing carbon dioxide stored in forests. Cows and sheep emit methane as they digest grass and plants.The cattle’s waste on pastures and chemical fertilizers used on crops for cattle feed emit nitrous oxide, another powerful greenhouse gas. Shrimp farms often occupy coastal lands formerly covered in mangrove forests which absorb huge amounts of carbon. The large carbon footprint of shrimp or prawns is mainly due to the stored carbon that is released into the atmosphere when mangroves are cut down to create shrimp farms.

Plant-based foods – such as fruits and vegetables, whole grains, beans, peas, nuts, and lentils – generally use less energy, land, and water, and have lower greenhouse gas intensities than animal-based foods.
76% of the world's population gets most of its daily nutrients from plants—yet climate change is already causing droughts and flooding that can destroy staple food crops. If extra CO2 in the atmosphere makes those crops less nutritious, it will be even harder to feed the world's growing population. Increased water scarcity due to climate change reduces the capacity to produce food and its quality, which has serious implications for food security, nutrition and health. In Ethiopia alone 9.7 million people are currently in need of emergency food aid. The more climate changes and the more that extreme climate events become commonplace, the more food we lose on an annual basis. According to the UN's Food and Agriculture Organization, roughly one-third of the food produced by farmers is lost between the field and the market in low- and middle-income countries.
So, how can food-related emissions are reduced? Indeed, reducing emissions from the food sector requires changes at all stages, from producers to consumers. By including more and more vegetarian foods in our diet, we can significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Consuming higher amounts of low-emitting substances—beans, chickpeas, lentils, nuts, and grains—as opposed to high-emitting substances—meat and dairy products such as butter, milk, cheese, meat, coconut oil, and palm oil. We can significantly reduce our environmental impact by making small changes in our eating habits. This change will be beneficial for both health and climate from every point of view. In the last decade, the trend towards being vegetarian has increased in developed western countries like America and Britain. There is no religious reason behind this but the desire to reduce the carbon footprint. That is why even those people who have been eating meat for generations are becoming vegan. Such efforts make a lot of sense towards reducing the carbon footprint in the climate. Therefore, we should also pay attention to the behavior of our food so that we too leave at least a carbon footprint.

The bitterness of medicines has the ability to cure diseases. In the same way, many things are said to be as bitter as a quinine pill, but our happy future is present in it. How sad it is that now even the unborn babies are getting affected by air pollution. These babies are our future and the future of the earth. So when the occasion of increasing air pollution i.e. Diwali festival and after that smog is about to come in front of us, then we have to think in advance about reducing air pollution. We have to find a way so that our happiness does not diminish and air pollution does not increase.


While I was researching her life to write a book on the lives of female Beedi workers, I had to face a painful reality. I saw a mother of 20-22 years old doing Beedi rolling work with her little baby who sleeping on her lap. She used to rolling Tendu leaves and stuff tobacco powder in it. In this process, many particles of tobacco were going into that child's breath. It was clear that the child will get a sick future. It was feel bad to see that the mother is unknowingly endangering the health of her same child for whose happy life she is working hard. In fact, almost the same process we go through during every festival like Diwali when we burst firecrackers fiercely and raise the air pollution to the danger level.
Recently, research has come to the fore that toxic pollution has been found in the lungs of the developing baby in the mother's womb. Know that his mother's breath reached him. There is a saying for the unborn child that "the child has not even breathed into the world yet". But just imagine that the child who has not even breathed in the world yet and becomes a victim of toxic pollution, then there can be no more misfortune for that unborn child than this. In these days uncountable unborn children are affected by toxic air pollution. Today's uncountable unborn children are affected by toxic air pollution.

Pregnant women and their fetus are at greatest risk from air pollution. Countless studies suggest that pregnant women's exposure to toxic air can lead to miscarriage, still birth, premature labor, and low birth weight. The strong association between neonatal mortality and air poisoning has been established several times. An uncontrolled exposure to allergens and air pollution may cause intrauterine inflammation. This can lead to the following problems as affecting brain and neurological development, affecting the formation and functions of the lungs, can lead to cancer, loss of attention, low intelligence, Alzheimer's disease.
Keeping in mind the climate change, there is a need to adopt some new style of celebrating Diwali. It is true that there is a different joy in running fireworks, sparklers, firecrackers and bombs with our own hands, but if  starts having affect in the womb of the mother to our future generation, then we should be worried. The density of land pollution is high among the dense settlements of every cities and it remains as it is for a long time. So it should happen that just as fireworks are displayed in one place in the celebration of New Year abroad and the whole city enjoys it together, similarly in our country too. In proportion to the size of the city, there are should be chosen two or three such safe open spaces and together enjoy the fireworks. Due to this, the level of air pollution during Diwali will come down judiciously. If we talk about the statistics, then the figures of air pollution level in Diwali start crossing the danger line. In the environment after Diwali night in 2021 approximately P.M. 2.5 i.e. the amount of micro-pollutant elements sulphate, nitrate, ammonium, carbon, organic carbon, silicon and sodium ions were found to be significantly increased. All these elements remain in the environment for a long time.
With the onset of winter, the risk of smog increases in polluted cities. Researchers have discovered a new threat in this smog, named aerosols. A new study has shown that aerosol pollution affects both climate and air quality around the world. Aerosols are small solid particles and liquid droplets that increase smog and are emitted by industrial factories, power plants, and vehicle smoke. The study was led by the University of Texas at Austin and the University of California San Diego. Although CO2 and aerosols are often emitted at the same time during fuel burning, the two substances behave differently in Earth's atmosphere.  Carbon dioxide has a similar effect on the climate, no matter who emits it. But for these aerosol pollutants, they are concentrated near where they are emitted, so the impact they have on the climate system is very minor and depends greatly on where they are coming from. The researchers found that, where aerosols are emitted, that can distort the social cost of carbon. Greenhouse gasses account for about 66 percent of the economic cost to society. The scientists looked at eight major countries which included Brazil, China, East Africa, Western Europe, India, Indonesia, the United States and South Africa.
Amidst the big dangers of air pollution, we can do our small efforts to reduce air pollution. We all know that oxygen is necessary for life on earth, so how can we endanger our life, our earth and all the living beings with us on earth by doing oxygen reducing work. We have to think about this before Diwali.

Climate change, Food Security and Jaware of Navratri

It is estimated that by 2050 the world population will increase by one third. If current income and consumption growth trends continue, agricultural production will have to increase by 60 percent to meet the expected increased demands for food. Keeping in mind that millions of people are suffering from hunger, we have to stop wastage of food, understand the importance of food grains... and wecan bring this awareness through the Jaware of Navratri.
All over the world, wherever there are people who follow the Hindu religion, they all celebrate the nine-day religious festival of Shardiya Navratri. People of other religions also join this enthusiasm of Durga Puja. One of the biggest features of the rituals of Durga Puja is that "Jaware" is sown on this occasion. It is believed that the worship of Maa Durga in Navratri is incomplete without the Jaware. Whether it is at home or a puja pandal, jewels will definitely be found everywhere in the court of the Mother Goddess. In today's time when we are moving towards food crisis due to climate change, it is important to understand the importance of Jaware. There is such a message in Jaware which makes us aware of food production and security.
Climate change is depleting fresh water resources and food production Climate change induced natural disasters are causing acute food insecurity, increasing droughts leading to exodus of agricultural workers, unemployment and persistent food insecurity. . The COP-26, after the United Nations Food System Summit, revealed the fact that food systems inequality and crisis are the cause of not getting enough food for everyone. About 811 million people are forced to go to bed hungry.

According to the beliefs of Hinduism, the first crop of creation was barley, so it is a tradition to sow them in earthen pots before worshiping the goddess in Navratri. Barley is a complete crop. It is not only the importance of sowing barley in Navratri Puja, but how fast it grows, it is important. Barley grown for worship in Navratri is called "Jaware". During Navratri, jowar is sown in earthen pots in temples, houses and puja pandals. Water is offered to them regularly. Due to which they gradually sprout and grow and look like a green crop. At the end of Navratri, they are immersed in the flowing water. Actually, the logic behind this tradition of sowing barley in Navratri is that barley was the first crop at the beginning of creation. This practice of sowing barley teaches us to always respect our grains and grains. We offer this crop to Mother Goddess. This sorghum is grown. While sowing barley on the ground in the house of worship, barley is sown by mixing cow dung in the soil while meditating on Maa Durga.
Jaware is grown in earthen pots. This earthenware is a symbol of earth. In this pot, half filled with clean black soil and cow dung powder. Which is a symbol of the fertility of the land. After this, water is sprinkled on it, which establishes the importance of water for Khoti. When the soil becomes moist, soaked barley or wheat grains are sown in it. This process of sowing seeds is a symbol of growing a healthy and good crop. Since it is grown in a symbolic form, at the end of Navratri, this jewel is offered in a river or reservoir. That is, the elements of nature are handed back to nature in a healthy form.
On the basis of the color and quality of jowar, the prediction of the upcoming crop is also done. If there is less fertile and polluted soil then the sorghum will not grow well. Even if the water is polluted and unsuitable, the sorghum will not grow well. On the other hand, sorghum sown in fertile soil in a suitable clay pot, after getting good water containing mineral elements, rises fast and in good color. This tradition of sowing seeds also adds to the importance of farming to those who do not cultivate. Knowing the importance of agriculture and food grains, we can understand the increasing food crisis in the world. There is a belief behind sowing barley that food is Brahma and it should be respected.

According to a special report on climate change and land that The current food system (production, transport, processing, packaging, storage, retail, consumption, loss and waste) feeds the great majority of world population and supports the livelihoods of over 1 billion people. Since 1961, food supply per capita has increased more than 30%, accompanied by greater use of nitrogen fertilizers and water resources for irrigation. However, an estimated 821 million people are currently undernourished, 151 million children under five are stunted, 613 million women and girls aged 15 to 49 suffer from iron deficiency, and 2 billion adults are overweight or obese. The food system is under pressure from non-climate stressors, and from climate change. These climate and non-climate stresses are impacting the four pillars of food security (availability, access, utilization, and stability). So we can see given increasing extreme events and global and cross-sectoral interconnectedness, the food system is at increasing risk of disruption, for example, via migration and conflict due to climate change.

Therefore, we have to be aware of the production, storage, protection and equitable distribution of food grains in the same way as we are aware of the Jaware and try to have good and healthy Jaware. We can bring awareness among the common people by finding ways to control the problems arising due to climate change in scientific religious beliefs and traditions. For example, in India it is not considered good to leave food on the plate, so the traditional people take only as much food on their plate as they can eat. There is no wastage of food grains. Similarly, Jaware also teaches the nuances of farming to women, men and children, whether they are farmers or not. This also brings awareness to agriculture in the minds of non-agriculturists. In fact, such traditions are not just religious rituals but give us practical knowledge about nature and natural substances, seasons, atmosphere and climate. That is why from the jaware we can get the signs of facing food crisis.

These days we are discussing climate and resilient agricultural development. It is a very necessary discussion. But I think we seriously need to know about the pace of Climate Change so that we can make the right strategy for future agriculture.  We would never want to have the same fate as the Maya civilization found in the past. It is believed that the Maya civilization came to an end due to severe drought, while their irrigation system was of a high quality. The reason we remember the Maya civilization is that we are seeing an increasing number of environmental refugees or climate refugees all over the world these days.


I am not a zoologist, I am not an agriculturist, I am not a soilist. But I am an Earthian. It is my duty to do something to save the earth. Basically I am a writer and activist and I want a beautiful healthy society and a safe earth. Both depend on a balanced climate.

Extreme weather, sea level rise, and other climate change impacts are increasingly to blame. Here’s a look at what links flooding and our warming world. Yes! Only one thing and that is climate change. The climate change is warning us in the form of irregularities in temperature and weather.
I am a historian. So, I always put my one sight on the past and other sight on the future as an earthian. Maya civilization existed on our earth thousands of years ago but due to some reasons this civilization ended. What is the mystery behind the end of the Maya civilization, scientists are trying to unravel it. Recently another research has come out in this regard. It is said that the end of the Maya civilization was due to continuous drought for more than 100 years. For this, the researchers analyzed minerals taken from the famous 'Blue Hole' of Marine Life Belize and the lagoons found around it. They found that there was a severe drought between 800 and 900 AD, which became the main reason for the end of the Maya civilization. According to the report of 'Live Science', there was a severe drought from the 6th century to the 10th century, due to which the Maya civilization was destroyed. We would never want to have the same fate as the Maya civilization.
India is getting hit by climate change. Due to the change in the nature of rain, many rivers in the Himalayan states have changed their course. Scientists are also agreeing that the weather has started behaving strangely. Several villages in Arunachal Pradesh and Assam have been washed away in the last few decades. According to experts, many rivers have changed their course due to climate change. Northeast India receives a lot of rain. According to experts, the nature of rain has changed in the last few decades. Now it is raining heavily and for a long time. Because of this the rivers are getting flooded. Analysis of geological data has shown that some rivers have changed their course up to 300 meters away, while elsewhere they have moved 1.8 kilometers away. According to the Center for Science and Environment based in New Delhi, the rainfall is well distributed throughout the year under normal climatic conditions. But now its nature has changed due to climate change.

If the increasing rate of climate refugees is to be stopped, then first of all we have to stop all those works which are harming the climate. Trees will have to be saved and new trees will have to be planted and that plant will have to be protected honestly. The climate cannot be saved just by taking pictures and promoting it in the media, for this, sincere efforts have to be made, if we also do not want to become a climate refugee.

If we pay attention in favor of agriculture, we will hear the cries of the soil. Yea! If the soil could speak, it would have opposed the injustice being done to it. In the last few decades, we have done a great injustice to that soil. The soil which gives us grains, fruits, flowers, vegetables, we have contaminated it with chemical substances, sometimes by chemical fertilizer, sometimes by chemical and plastic waste and sometimes by drying its moisture.

The 35 varieties of climate resilient crop include a drought tolerant variety of chickpea, wilt and sterility mosaic resistant pigeon pea, early maturing variety of soybean, disease resistant varieties of rice and bio-fortified varieties of wheat, pearl millet, maize and chickpea. We need more development in agricultural sciences and practices that cope with the impact of climate change. For instance, Conservation Agriculture is considered as one of the adapted measures against climate change. Actually, resilience refers to the ability of an agricultural system to anticipate and prepare for, as well as adapt to, absorb and recover from the impacts of changes in climate and extreme weather. That means we have accepted the serious effects of climate change. But we have enough time to slow down the pace of climate change and secure the future of agriculture. If we cannot slow down the pace of climate change, then we have to learn to farm even in snow and fire, flood and drought. Can we will do it? Think about it!

डॉ (सुश्री) शरद सिंह का National Symposium में Climate change पर व्याख्यान

डिपार्टमेंट ऑफ जूलॉजी, डॉ हरिसिंह गौर केंद्रीय विश्वविद्यालय सागर तथा  नेशनल एकेडमी आफ साइंसेज इंडिया (NASI) के संयुक्त तत्वावधान में तीन दिवसीय राष्ट्रीय संगोष्ठी का आयोजन किया गया जिसका मुख्य विषय था-"Current developments in climate resilient agriculture". इस National Symposium के दूसरे दिन 17.09.2022 को Technical Session V में बतौर Invited Speaker मैंने भी अपना व्याख्यान दिया। मेरा विषय था - "We seriously need to know about pace of Climate Change for development of resilient agriculture" विषय पर
 अपना व्याख्यान दिया। 
    मैं अत्यंत आभारी हूं डॉ. सुबोध जैन एवं डॉ  वर्षा शर्मा की जिन्होंने मुझे देश भर से आए विद्वान वैज्ञानिकों एवं शोधकर्ताओं के समक्ष जलवायु परिवर्तन पर अपने विचार रखने का अवसर दिया। साथ ही उन विद्वानों की भी आभारी हूं जिन्होंने मेरे विचार के प्रति सहमति प्रकट की।

      With the passage of time, there has been a rapid change in the way of communication. If people in their 40s to 50s remember their childhood days, they would find that they were afraid of answering their parents in their childhood. But today this trend has reduced in children. They insist on their parents, openly question and answer them and sometimes even do hate speech. This trend of hate speech has also increased rapidly among youth and now this type of trend is being seen in adults as well. It is generally believed that social change is the biggest reason for this. But as a result of a study recently, the startling fact came out that climate change is also an important reason for this. Is it really? Let's see the facts.


The campaign of #NoHateSpeech is being run all over the world. Sensitive people all over the world are concerned about the trend of hate speech being practiced. Interpersonal communication has changed rapidly in the recent past. People start venting their anger on each other even on small things. The role of social media in this direction is always blamed. Actually, social media comes before us as a mirror of social behavior. Trolling anyone on unnecessary things has become a trivial thing today. In order to damage the career of any person, his personal life is tossed. The trend of "red tagging" has also increased. If seen, this is unbalanced behavior of human beings. Such negative behavior hinders the work of those who are doing the right deeds. For example, those running the campaign of climate change awareness were trolled in Europe and America. they made a victim of hate speech. They are "red tagged". This is just an example. Its darker shades are seen in the field of politics. Political parties troll personal life of opposition's person to break the morale of their opposition. He is made a victim of hate speech. It is also said that some political parties hire trollers properly.

After all, what has happened that there is such a difference in the behavior of interaction? Is social change only responsible for this or is climate change also responsible for this? When the matter has come to the relationship between climate and mind, just remember the full moon night of the full moon. Scientists believe that on the night of the full moon, the mind is more restless and there is less sleep. Thoughts of committing suicide or murder increase in the mind of weak-hearted people. According to scientists, the effect of the moon is very strong on this day, due to these reasons the neuron cells in the blood inside the body become active and in such a situation the person remains more excited or emotional. In astrology, the moon is considered the god of the mind. The moon is not visible on the new moon day. In such a situation, people who are very emotional, this thing has the most effect on them. The person who is negative thinking takes his negative power under its influence. Amavasya is the time of union of Sun and Moon. On this day both stay in the same zodiac.
Well, no astrology, we talk about only scientific facts. Temperature is directly related to our mind and behavior. Too much heat or cold both fill our with anger and hatred. We are in the best mood at 12 to 21 degrees Celsius. Anger also comes less during this time. The Lancet Planetary Health studied the behavior of people living in 773 US cities by temperature. In this it was found that anger increases in a person when it is too hot or too cold and when he is unable to show anger or hatred physically, he expresses it online. The report said that during the US heat wave, the cases of online hate speech or hate text increased significantly. Researchers say that 25% of Black and 10% of Hispanic people in America are the most victims of online hate speech. Changes in the weather have resulted in four times more people in the LGBTQ community being victims of online hate speech. The team at The Lancet Planetary Health, led by Leonie Wenz of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, examined 400 million tweets in the US over the 6 years from May 2014 to May 2020. For this, he prepared an algorithm from artificial intelligence, which recognized hate speech. In this, 7 crore 50 lakh tweets were of hate speech, i.e. 2% of the total tweets. The team checked which tweets were from which area and what was the weather like there that day. Where the temperature was 15 to 18 degree Celsius, there was a slight increase in hate speech tweets. People living in the temperature of -3 to -5 degree Celsius have 12.5% more hate speech than others.

Another fact that In desert areas where the temperature was 42 to 45 degrees Celsius, tweets containing hate speech increased by 22%. It is surprisingly came out that those who are unable to tolerate the sudden change in temperature, they also start doing hate speech. Even in areas with higher average incomes where people can afford ACs, when the temperature rises, people have angry hate tweets. They say, but it is not that we are not able to harmonize with the weather. For hate speech, the team of researchers took the United Nation's definition as the standard. According to this, any kind of derogatory remarks on any person or group on the basis of their religion, race, nationality, color, gender or any other identity comes under hate speech.

We all know that climate change is not a one day, one month or one year event. This change has been happening for years. Climate change is causing changes in the weather and the temperature of the earth. This change is affecting the way humans interact. Be it too cold or too much heat, both affect the human brain. That is why the rapidly increasing pace of climate change has to be slowed before fatal changes in human behavior can occur.

Gargoyles are surprised to see Climate Change

If the Gargoyles of North India could talk to each other, they would have discussed each other's condition in such a way that why do you have a sore throat? To this one Gargoyle would reply to the other that my throat was sore due to the heavy rain. Then he asks Gargoyle what happened to your throat? So the second one would reply saying that my throat has dried up due to not getting enough rain and now the rainy season is also going so there is no hope left. Both Gargoyles looked at each other sadly and cursed their fate as to why so much art was spent on them. In fact, the Gargoyles are shocked, worried about climate change.


In addition to the practical function of projecting water away from a building, gargoyles were also intended to symbolize 'guardianship' of the building and to ward off evil spirits. Their open mouths were symbolic of them devouring giants. Gargoyles are carved stone creatures known as grotesques. Often made of granite, they serve an important purpose in architecture. Other than providing interesting decoration for buildings, they contain spouts that direct water away from the sides of buildings. Gargoyles prevent rainwater from running down stone walls and protect them. Sheila Kumar, writer and author says  in her article 'Mystique of the misshapen' that – "Gargoyles are traditionally thought to have been created during the Medieval period but examples date back to some ancient civilizations as well. They have been found on the roofs of Egyptian temples where their mouths served, of course, as a spout for water. Greek temples had their own version of gorges, often lions and other ferocious animals. The temple of Zeus originally had 102 lion-headed gargoyles or spouts, 39 of which remain. Europe, of course, is gargoyle heaven; they dot buildings in Toledo in Spain, Trondheim in Norway, Hillerod in Denmark, Vienna in Austria, Brugge and Mechelen in Belgium, Cologne in Germany, Zagreb in Croatia, and across the Netherlands and Portugal. Strangely, they are found also in Quito in Ecuador, the Forbidden City of Beijing, Ottawa in Canada, and Sydney in Australia. Closer home, a Shiva temple just outside Kollengode in Kerala and the temples of Uttarakhand come to mind, though these Indian spouts resemble your regular lion, horse and elephant. The gorges on newly-built structures usually have the mask of a raakshas or demon. Virtually, all the old Gothic churches in France sport gorges of varying monstrous proportions. The ones atop the Notre Dame in Paris have been a tourist attraction for ages, while the U.K. has its fair share atop the ancient academic buildings of Oxford, in Manchester, at Westminster Cathedral, at Winchester Cathedral, and in Cheshire, Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Wales, Ireland and in the many abbeys of Scotland."
But I found a big difference between western and Indian gargoyles that Indian gargoyles have rich and soft aesthetic elements by the sculpture, while western gargoyles have scary and hard elements in aesthetically approach. In the Western Gargoyles, images of demons are made, which are often in the form of semi-animals. From which there is a very scary feeling when the water comes out with the sound of thunder. But Indian Gargoyles do not have any horror even though they have semi-human faces. Statues of lion, boar and Udan Gandharva have been made in Khajuraho temples. In which there is beauty. Other old temples and buildings in India have beautiful gargoyles more than this one. Whether Western or Indian, both the Gargoyles have the same function, to trick the water that collects on the roof and throw it away from the walls so that the walls are not damaged. In the Western Gargoyles, it is imagined that the real devil also hides among their fearsome figures, and when it rains heavily, the water flowing from the Gargoyles takes away those hidden devils along with them and gargoyles provides protection to homes.

Climate change is affecting the weather. The weather is getting uncertain. Sometimes it rains heavily and sometimes it starts raining all of a sudden. Those places where water used to rain less have started receiving heavy rains and where there used to be heavy rains, it has started raining below average. That's why gargoyles built for heavy rain appear dry today and gargoyles built for low rain are forced to withstand the pressure of heavy rain. There has been a system since the time the earth came into existence. The season of a place is the average weather that affects it over a given period of time. Precipitation, sunlight, wind, humidity and temperature are the factors that affect the season of a place. Changes in weather can be sudden and can be felt, whereas it takes a long time to change seasons, so it is relatively difficult to experience. Seasons have been changing throughout the history of the Earth. This change is happening more rapidly during the last 150-200 years. Human activities are responsible for this pace of change and it is a cause for concern for scientists. In the name of so-called development in 100 years, we have exploited the sources of groundwater and water so much that the whole world is facing the shortage of drinking water. Thousands of small rivers have become extinct in the country and the world, ponds and wells have dried up. The groundwater level is going down. Looking at the statistics, today's picture is quite grim. Nowadays erratic rainfall, partial rainfall is emerging as a very big problem. This year we are seeing that the situation of rain, rainfall inside the whole country is very worrying.  That's why not only us but also the stone structure Gargoyles that shed rain water built by our forefathers are amazed and we can take care of ourselves and our gargoyles, by removing the reasons why the weather is becoming increasingly erratic. . We have to make every effort to slow down the pace of climate change, understanding the structural importance of the gargoyles.

    In the rainy season of 2022, both coastal and inland—are finding themselves underwater due to flood. Extreme weather, sea level rise, and other climate change impacts are increasingly to blame. Here’s a look at what links flooding and our warming world. Yes! Only one thing and that is climate change. The climate change is warning us in the form of irregularities in temperature and weather. We can save ourselves only by listening to this warning, understanding and making efforts accordingly.
Flood.. Flood.. More flood. What for the waiting we are? Flood havoc in western, eastern and southern districts of Rajasthan. There was a time when people here were unaware of words like flood but now the situation has turned to the opposite. Now floods are occurring in the desert almost every year. If we talk about Madhya Pradesh, then in Malwa, Nimar, Hoshangabad, Bhopal divisions, heavy rains forced the doors of the dams to open. Not only the elderly but middle-aged people also rightly said that "we have never seen such heavy rain in these areas before". 
The surprising thing is that the forest is not able to attract rain. Most of the areas of Bundelkhand this time too have not received enough rain till the last week of August'22. Uttar Pradesh with big rivers is also suffering from low rainfall. At the same time, in August 2022, the earthquake of 5.2 in Lakhimpur Kheri area had put everyone in terrible panic. 20 Aug, 1:12 am, Earthquake tremors were felt in the entire district including Lakhimpur city. People were sleeping soundly at that time. People were stirred by this tremor of about 15 to 20 seconds. Fearing something untoward, people came out of their homes. Earthquake tremors were felt not only in Lakhimpur Kheri but in many districts adjoining Nepal including Lucknow, Bahraich, Shravasti, Balrampur, Sitapur, Barabanki, Gorakhpur, Siddharthnagar. Actually, the country has been divided into four different zones regarding the earthquake. According to the Macro Seismic Zoning Mapping, it includes Zone-5 to Zone-2. Zone 5 has been rated as the most sensitive and similarly Zone 2 is considered the least sensitive. An earthquake with a magnitude of 4 to 4.9 can break windows. Household items may shake at a magnitude of 5 to 5.9. An earthquake of magnitude 6 to 6.9 can cause cracks in the foundations of buildings. An earthquake with a magnitude of 7 to 7.9 can cause buildings to collapse. Large bridges can also collapse when an earthquake of magnitude 8 to 8.9 occurs. Earthquakes with a magnitude of more than 9 can cause complete destruction. If the sea is near, then a tsunami can also occur. Uttar Pradesh is in Zone-IV of Earthquake. Major parts of Uttar Pradesh are already in Zone-IV of Earthquake. Seismic Zone IV is considered the high-damage risk zone. The IS Code allots 0.24 to this zone. Moreover, 18% of the total area of the country belongs to Zone IV. According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS) earthquake report noticed the earthquakes increasing in 2022.
Just as earthquakes warn of geological changes, rain and drought also warn about climate change. The effect of climate change is now clearly visible in India too. This time in Monsoon season, where people lived in many parts of the country due to torrential rains and floods, there are some areas of the country where there was drought; there was very little rain here. At the beginning of the monsoon, the Indian Meteorological Department and meteorologists make many predictions about the monsoon, but this time the weather changed its activity many times and all the predictions appeared to be failing. It all starts with the release of greenhouse gasses like carbon dioxide and methane. As humans keep burning fossil fuels, the atmosphere gets hotter. That hot air holds more water vapor, and so when it rains, it rains harder. Climate scientists have been predicting for decades that heavy rain would get more common as the Earth heats up. "Over the last few decades, global warming has been on an accelerated pace and its marks can be seen in any single day of global weather since the 2000s. Generation Z has never lived a day without feeling the influence of global warming," added Roxy Mathew Koll from the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology in Pune. 
Normally 588 mm of rain should have been received across the country till August 16 but till now it has received 645.4 mm of rain. Central India received 24% excess rainfall in South India, 30% more rain while Northeast Eastern states received 17% less rain. Areas in the Ganges belt received up to 45% less rainfall than normal. If the state of Uttarakhand is seen in the areas of Ganga belt, then there was 12% less rain than normal in Uttar Pradesh, 45% in Bihar, 40% in Jharkhand, 36% and West Bengal 36%. At the same time, there are many areas of Assam, Odisha, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Konkan and southern states where rains and floods have caused havoc. Due to the change in weather, this time torrential rains are continuing in the southern areas like Rajasthan, Maharashtra.. and Central India, whereas in North India such as the Gangetic plains, where there was more rain earlier, there is a drought situation.
In fact, for every degree (Celsius) of climate change, the amount of water vapor in the atmosphere increases by around 7%. This results in more intense extreme rainfall events almost everywhere as the world warms. So we will have tried to reduce global warming in anyhow. Because climate changes have warning to us in terms of heavy rains, droughts, increasing temperature, decreasing temperature etc. Overall, it is warning us in the form of irregularities in temperature and weather. We can save ourselves only by listening to this warning, understanding and making efforts accordingly.

   China has taken a big step to protect the earth. Although the pain of the corona virus pandemic which originated from Wuhan, has not yet been erased from the heart of the world. Yet China's move to save the earth from asteroids can be appreciated. But the matter of thinking is that who is big threat for our earth in an asteroid and climate change? China and other nations also trying to slow down the pace of climate change but us? And how far have our efforts reached?
Our Earth is always at risk from asteroids. Yes, on 18 August 2022, the Earth narrowly survived the collision of an asteroid. A 190 feet wide asteroid named Asteroid 2022 PC, nearly the size of a Boeing 747 airplane, just missed Earth in 18 August 2022 at around 05:37AM, according to NASA. It passed by Earth at a safe distance. This asteroid was missed by the space and sky monitoring agencies and was just recently discovered on August 1. Asteroid 2022 PC is different from previous asteroids that have flown past Earth recently as it does not belong to the Apollo group of asteroids but the Aten group. The asteroid orbits around the Sun, taking almost 295 days to complete 1 orbit. 
Asteroids are small, rocky objects that orbit the Sun. Although asteroids orbit the Sun like planets, they are much smaller than planets. There are lots of asteroids in our solar system. In 1801, while making a star map, Giuseppe Piazzi accidentally discovered a small object 1000 kilometers (600 miles) in diameter between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. Piazzi named the object Ceres. It was the first asteroid to be discovered. But for the word "asteroid" credit goes to scientist Herschel. This word derived from a Greek word meaning "star like". Herschel introduced the term at a meeting of London's Royal Society in May 1802 and later published it in the Society's Philosophical Transactions. Asteroids probably consist of clay and silicate rocks, and are dark in appearance. They are among the most ancient objects in the solar system. The S-types ("stony") are made up of silicate materials and nickel-iron. The M-types are metallic (nickel-iron). The fact is that every asteroid has not harmful for earth. Every year, the earth is hit by about 6100 meteors large enough to reach the ground, or about 17 every day, research has revealed. While it is believed that our solar system is very big compared to the size of the Earth, which means that the chance that the Earth will be hit by another solar system object such as an asteroid is very small. Once in awhile, it happens. In another theory an asteroid comet caused the Triassic–Jurassic extinction, similar to the extraterrestrial object which was the main factor in the Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction about 66 million years ago. It means that about 66 million years ago, a "planet killer" - a 10-kilometer-wide asteroid - hit Earth. The Chicxulub impact caused a mass extinction on a planetary scale, killing off an estimated 76 percent of all species living on Earth at the time, including the dinosaurs.
Chinese researchers are working on a new method to detect and track asteroids, which will also determine if any giant piece of space rock poses any danger to Earth. The method involves building an array of more than 20 large antennas to bounce signals off asteroids to determine if they could possibly impact our planet. The project is named China Fuyan ("compound eye" in English) and is led by Beijing Institute of Technology, according to the Chinese ministry. The asteroids chosen for signal bouncing will be present within 93 million miles (150 million kilometers) of Earth (about as distant as the Sun), it further said. Asteroids are harmless space rocks that give us something to stare at when they pass by Earth. However, if they slightly deviate from their angle while approaching Earth, it could often mean deadly for us. After all, a large asteroid had done that almost 65 million years ago to wipe dinosaurs out of this planet. But what if humanity has to face such an extinction event in the future? Chinese scientists have proposed a way to use the Moon to protect us from these deadly space rocks. 
Surely this is an important work towards saving the earth. But the earth is threatened not only from outside but also from inner side. And this threat is climate change. The only difference between the collision of a large asteroid and the devastation caused by climate change is to shoot dead someone or kill someone with slow poison. Death is in both. We are giving slow poison to the entire climate by harming our environment. Many countries, including China, are seriously working to reduce the pace of climate change. It's sad that we do less work and show off more. Every season of rain reveals the reality of our efforts. Till now we have neither been able to manage dirty water nor clean water. We have not been able to pay attention to our habits which harm the environment. Have we completely stopped using non-standard polythene bags? No! Have we stopped growing fruits and vegetables by putting chemical medicines? No! Have we stopped the cutting of trees? No! With so much negativity, how can we say we are aware of climate change? In fact, climate change is a bigger threat to us than asteroids and we have to take responsibility for serious efforts to slowdown it.

      We have disturbed the balance of the five elements necessary for our life by tampering with the environment. Changes in weather and climate are the fatal consequences of this. Still, it is time that we, the general public, together with the government, can improve the condition. When Union Minister Prakash Javadekar took over as the Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, he had said that "the mandate of this ministry is to protect the five elements- water, fire, air, earth and sky." The will power of the government and the people together can do everything positive.

It is believed that the human body is made up of five elements- soil, water, fire, air and sky. These are also called Panch Mahabhutas or Panch Tattva. According to the Kailash Samhita of Shiva Purana, Ishaan was born from Shiva and five Mithuns were born from Ishaan. The first Gemini is the sky, the second air, the third fire, the fourth water and the fifth Mithun (Gemini) earth. The nature of these five is described as follows. In other words – “Chiti Jal Pavak Gagan Sameera, Panchtatva Rachit Adham Sarira”. Our body is formed only by the combination of these five elements earth, water, fire, air and sky, it is nurtured and in the end gets absorbed in them.
Earth - synonymous with patience and endurance is the life of crores of living beings on the surface of the earth. We fill our stomach with the food produced from it. Potable water and air are also found in this environment.

Water - Water is also one of the important elements of life, without it life will end in just a few hours or days. There is no life on the planets like Mars because there is no water there. That is why it is said that water is life, without water everything is empty.

Agni – Here Agni means energy and power. The energy that we get from food and the sun. Feeling energized by getting the water and air present on the earth. The basic difference between living and non-living is that of energy. Sun is the biggest source of energy for us.

Air - Pranavayu is necessary for breathing, in small quantities it leads to suffocation. It is one of the essential Panchabhutas for our life. Out of the total gases available in the atmosphere, only oxygen is life-giving, it is also called Pranavayu.

Sky – The last element among the five elements is sky or sky, which is considered to be balancing among all the elements. It gives stability to our atmosphere and universe.
It is said in Hindu scriptures that our earth has originated from air, air from air, water from fire and water from water.
Akash- Akash is a moleculeless element. In its absence, the human body should be the same, when we keep fasting, if the stomach does not get food, then all the energy gets wasted. In this way, the credit for the transmission of power in life goes to the sky. The sky is said to give birth to all the elements and finally dissolves all in itself. The meaning of the sky is void i.e. an emptiness where there is no presence.

When Union Minister Prakash Javadekar took over as the Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, he had said that it is the mandate of this ministry to protect the five elements – water, fire, air, earth and sky. He also talked about Prime Minister Narendra Modi's strong emphasis on India's eco-friendly lifestyle in the Paris Climate Agreement and to include it in the Preamble of the Paris Agreement. The creation and development of man have taken place from the five elements. As long as the operation of the five elements is done in perfect harmony and coordination, then the creation and human life is balanced and moves at an uninterrupted pace. If there is disturbance in any of these elements, then distortions in the universe and diseases arise in the human body. He was also said that, it is the moral duty of every citizen to protect our five elements, so that the creation and human life remain balanced.

Climate change is happening around the world due to the difference in the balanced ratio of these five elements. Due to the imbalance of the five elements, our environment has suffered a lot. Because of this, everyone's life is getting in trouble today, because we are not getting good food to eat, nor can we take good pure air. The amount of pollution has increased so much all around that it is becoming difficult for every human to breathe. Now just remember this thing again that any person or thing, whether it is living or non-living, comes under the environment. We get a lot from the environment, but what do we get in return? We are bent on harming this environment and its priceless wealth for our selfishness. Today man is making new inventions and making a lot of progress, but he is suffering due to this environment and the innocent creatures living in it. Today everyone has to be aware to protect the environment and nature otherwise the entire human race will be destroyed along with the environment. Environment has provided human with resources since time immemorial and human also made full use of them. From ancient times till now, whatever we needed, we have got it directly or indirectly from the environment itself. As time passed, our needs also increased and to meet these needs, we started showing cruelty towards the environment. We did not stop the population growth in advance, due to which people started getting less resources and the environment started degrading excessively.

People started migrating from villages to cities, trees, plants and forests started getting destroyed, animals started being killed for their own benefit, and pollution spread everywhere. Which caused a lot of damage to the environment.. All these are also balancing the five elements. We are bent on destroying the nature which gave us shelter, the five elements that made us. There are many side effects of environmental pollution such as genetic effect due to release of radioactive material from nuclear explosion, degradation of ozone layer which protects from ultraviolet rays, soil erosion, extreme temperature rise, air, water, environment pollution, destruction of trees and plants. There are many bad effects, the emergence of new diseases, etc. So, we should take the immediate action with cooperation of government bodies and try to once again to balance the five elements which are necessary for our and our earth's life.
